You’ll love the smooth hydrostatic transmission, there’s no gear changes here, thank you very much! Simply press or depress the pedal to select the speed you want and off you go. You can reach dizzying speeds of up to 8.8km/h meaning you can work as fast or as slowly as you want. Whatever speed you choose you’ll be doing so from the comfort of your seat where you’re assured of excellent visibility all round and plenty of leg room. Getting on and off is a breeze too - but thanks to the handy electric start and snazzy headlights you’ll probably feel like staying on all day! For your safety there’s even some parking brakes which come as standard on this model.

You even get 7 pre-set cutting heights (25mm to 80mm) which means not only can you tackle a variety of grass lengths but you can also cut the lawn to whatever length you want. The powerful 432cc Stiga ST450 OHV petrol engine offers you all the power and reliability you need, making this a truly excellent model.
Did we mention that the Mountfield 1538H-SD is an excellent mulching machine? A mulching kit comes as standard with this machine. Thanks to the double bladed system this model will cut the grass extremely efficiently and if you use a mulching kit it will be returned to your lawn where it will add vital nutrients to your grass to ensure green and healthy growth. This saves you time and money and is a totally natural product - ideal for if you have pets or children around.
The Mountfield 1538H-SD is a super mulching tractor (when paired with the mulching kit). The lack of a collector on the back is a blessing when it comes to doing the right thing for your lawn! The finely cut clippings are returned to the lawn as you mow, as rich mulch which is packed with all the goodness and nutrients that your grass needs to remain lush and healthy. You won't need to buy additional lawn fertilizer and you won't need to waste time and effort applying it - your grass is being fertilized as you mow! If your grass is too long to mulch then you can choose the side discharge option - the grass will be neatly blown back onto your lawn, allowing you to mulch next time.
On the first day that your new Mountfield ride-on arrives you may be in awe of its shiny red exterior and be left wondering how you’ll keep it looking its best. A simple garden hose-down at the end of the day and maybe a quick polish should do the trick but don’t forget the handy washing link is there for you for when you need to clean out the cutting deck.
