Stihl have developed an exciting 2 stroke-engine with stratified charge. Exhaust emissions are reduced because fuel consumption is decreased by a whopping 20% - cleaner air all round is a welcome bonus for you and the planet. This is achieved by some careful engineering; a fuel-free layer of air is created between the burned charge in the combustion chamber and the fresh charge in the crankcase, reducing the amount of fuel lost during the charge cycle.
The Stihl BG 86 B-E features a Manual fuel pump (Purger). At the touch of a button fuel is delivered to the carburettor via a small fuel pump - this reduces the number of starting strokes required following extended breaks in between operations. This will save you time and effort and means that the fuel is used more economically. Stihl have worked genuinely hard to engineer their petrol machines to be more economical and environmentally friendly as possible.

The PET filter cartridge requires no tools to remove or insert back.
